A patchy, messy SBD of a patchy, messy show. Has some great jams in it, and the last half or so is awesome in terms of music. The tape never quite gets balanced through.

Wings a mile long... Just carried the bird away
This is my 1st review under the new format.
Set One-
Always been way more keyed for Madison 2/15/73 which I had way before I ever heard this show.
My gut feeling is this show is almost like being at a rehearsal both because of the new tunes and the Dead familiarizing themselves with newer sound equipment.
With that said the Dead in 73 are just mindbogglingly mellow.
Promised Land,
Row Jimmy-[FTP]-still needs a tune up.
B.T.W- such a great song! When Weir brought this back he monkeyed with the lyrics and it just didn't flow as naturally.
DEAL-one of my favorite dance tunes,
if you could keep up with this tune you could handle bone to bone.
They have a very fat sound going, dig Phil..
I gave this show '4'- stacked against rest of 73
but --honestly this show destroy anything post 78.
Me and My Uncle- This is a great tune to follow the Dead thru their career, it was played all the time. Jerry shreds this up,
at some point Keith finally gets added into the mix.
Garcia's licks go here there and everywhere...
Getting the bugs out! annunciate! Home Stereo!!!
SUGAREE- Hot!-They may have jammed it harder in later years but Jerry's voice is so pristine here.
L.L.R-pretty sweet, Phil makes with the thunder, Jerry brings the lightning!
Loose Lucy-[FTP] this is smoking, Donna
There is much 'First Time Played'
rowdy LUCY! --
"I like your smile, but you ain't my type
don't shake the tree, when the fruit ain't ripe"
Roll Out the Barrel-Another reason to love GD!
Mexicali-Polka Time- Phil singing!!!
Another really good dance number.
B.E. Woman- Ensemble Singing real good..
El Paso- This is one fast paced version.
[FTP]---HERE---COMES----SUNSHINE.......[FTP]
Probably one of my favorite songs.
Anyone know why it was only played 73/74
and then dropped for so------------------long?
Easily one of my favorite Dead tunes.
Good first timer and this song got better during 73.
Donna in the mix as well!
Do you know they played this 30+ times IN 1973 then 1 time in 1974 and then not again until December 6, 1992 ( 30 MORE times thru 1995)
P.I.T.B-extended versions super cool.
In January 78 they did these in the 2nd set.
Playing was every bit as much a vehicle for exploration as the Dark Star--When P.I.T.B was aired out fully like it is here.
Set Two-
Wavy rap- I will leave it to Dylan
"We are living in a political world
under the microscope,
you can go anywhere,
hang yourself there,
always got more than enough rope."
China >Rider-pretty strong, good vocals
Jack Straw-flows well after the Rider
I am trying to figure out who exactly is singing the backing vocals towards the end of Jack Straw?
IRON HIM OUT RIGHT NOW!
DEAD BATTERY!!!
[FTP]T.L.E.O-The back beat is so bouncy
Like Tigre from Winnie the Pooh is bee-bopping
That is super sweet.
TRUCKIN>EYES[FTP]>CHINA DOLL[FTP]
an 18 minute EYES -First Time Played.
Amazing there are 8 more tunes
after this Trifecta
